About Study Course

Objective

To expand and gather knowledge on the problems of paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutritional therapy in order to be able to independently consult children of different ages with diseases of the digestive tract, liver and biliary tract, participate in multidisciplinary teams as a gastroenterology expert.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.To diagnose surgical diseases of the digestive tract in the paediatric clinic. To diagnose inflammatory bowel diseases in children, provide a suitable therapy plan for the patient. To know how to diagnose autoimmune liver and biliary tract diseases in children, ensure patient preparation for liver transplantation.

Skills

1.Effective communication with patients, colleagues and other organisations. Ability to make decisions in cases of complex diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Ability to cooperate with colleagues from other specialties when making decisions regarding patients with gastrointestinal diseases.

Competences

1.Independently consulting doctor with expertise in children’s gastroenterology, hepatology and nutritional therapy.

To participate in a multidisciplinary team as an assistant to a paediatric gastroenterologist, directly caring for children with inflammatory bowel diseases. To participate in the provision of outpatient consultations in the paediatric clinic for children with digestive tract problems within the scope of their competence. To independently interpret the endoscopy reports on children, the results of radiological and visual diagnosis when working with gastroenterology patients. To prepare clinical cases for clinic discussions using current European guidelines in paediatric gastroenterology.
