As part of the study course, students acquire the skills to demonstrate and describe physical exercises, structure group classes and use terminology in Latvian and English in professional communication. Interdisciplinary understanding of movement organisation, physical load dosing and safety principles in fitness group classes is promoted in the study process.

Preliminary Knowledge

Completion of the study course requires basic knowledge in physical activities, human anatomy and principles of performance of physical exercises.

Knowledge

  • of basic knowledge of the construction of the human motion-support apparatus;
  • understanding the role of different fitness activities in promoting health;
  • basic knowledge of the safety principles of physical exercise.

The skills

  • were able to demonstrate simple physical exercise; the
  • ability to observe and characterize movement performance during physical activity; the
  • ability to use basic fitness terminology to describe movements.

Ability of competence

  • to use basic knowledge in organising physical activities;
  • ability to cooperate in the physical activity process and to adhere to safety principles.
