About Study Course

Objective

To develop understanding of the European Union communication policy – its principles, goals and implementation aspects. To promote learning of knowledge about the European Union, as well as to build skills to use the obtained knowledge in the analysis of communication processes and phenomena.

Preliminary Knowledge

Knowledge about the institutions of the European Union, communication theories, decision-making process, topical political events.

1.After mastering the course students formulate EU communication policy goals, basic principles, rationale for creation and implementation specifics.

1.After mastering the course students analyse the specifics of implementation of EU communication policy, tools used and operation mechanisms.

Evaluation of the EU communication campaign. Distance students are required to prepare a general overview - a presentation on EU communication policy.

The final mark (in a 10-point system) consists of 2 (two) works – seminar work and final work, according to the indicated proportion, the final mark.

Workshop work (40%): presentation on one of the topics of classes 8-10 – the workshop at the choice of the student/( - me).

The time allocated for presentation ~ 10 minutes during classes 8-9 – seminar, including questions and discussion.

The presentation should include a student/( - me) understanding of the subject matter, the results of the study, as well as conclusions and proposals for improving communication practice.

The presentation must also be submitted electronically (by sending the instructor to the specified email) on the day following the last lesson (Sunday until 23:59).

If there is no possibility to participate in the seminar, an individual work shall be submitted electronically (by sending the lecturer to the specified e-mail) to the lecturer on the day before the seminar.

Final Paper: discussion (60%) “The European Union: narcissistic and their perception in society”. The discussion is held on the 10th day of the lesson.

Minimum volume – 5 theses for discussion, each thesis supported by 3 arguments and concluded by a conclusion. Design of theses, arguments and conclusions (according to RSU requirements), including text letter size 12 dots, Times New Roman, interval between the lines 1.5. You can use smaller characters in tables, pictures.

within 1 week of the end of the course (Sunday through Oct. 23:59) theses shall be submitted in written form (by sending the instructor to the specified e-mail).

Failure to meet the deadline for submitting works will result in a 1-point reduction for each job (2 jobs in total).
