About Study Course
Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.• Describe methods of anesthesia, pharmacotherapy of the anesthesia means, operational principles of the anesthesia devices. • Expound the specific aspects of pain in the emergency medicine: application of analgesia and sedation for adults; explain the anatomical, physiological, pharmacological mechanism of pain transmission; interpret the evaluation of pain, explain the pharmacology of sedative and pain killing medications; explain the psychological and social aspects of pain in pediatrics, in the care taking of adult and geriatric patients. • Explain the ways of ensurance of airways.
Skills
1.The student will be able to: • choose and practically implement the methods of opening and maintaining the airways and apply oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airways, tracheal intubation, alternative airway management methods: cricothyrotomy, conicotomy, laryngeal mask; • practically evaluate the level of pain and sedation; • monitor vital signs during anesthesia and potential side effects of anesthesia and analgesia; • will know how to use anesthesia machines. Will be able to apply the following algorithms under the supervision of a certified doctor: • difficult airway algorithm for a trauma patient; • rapid intubation algorithm in an emergency situation.
Competences
1.Independently choose and practically realize anesthesia and analgesia in emergency situations, including during the diagnostic procedures and manipulations in the prehospital and hospital Admission Department phase.
