About Study Course
Objective
To assess doctoral student`s scientific competence in a foreign language (English or German).
Preliminary Knowledge
Knowledge of a foreign language (English or German) at B2 level and knowledge of specific terminology in the field of study.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Doctoral student demonstrates proficiency in a foreign language and specific terminology needed for writing the doctoral thesis and for research.
Skills
1.Doctoral student can understand specific scientific texts, communicate, discuss and make arguments in a foreign language on the research theme, answer the questions; use the foreign language skills in writing the doctoral thesis and publishing scientific articles in internationally quoted journals.
Competences
1.Knowledge-based professional communicative and research competence which facilitates participation in the development of scientific projects, including the cooperation in international research projects and the implementation of significant topical research themes, as well as the development of professional contacts in the respective field.

1. Assessment of text comprehension in a respective speciality/field: translation of an authentic text (written) of 2000 pr.s. without spaces (45 min), the dictionary can be used (40% of final evaluation).
2. Discussion of the problems of the respective scientific theme/field, research work (60% of final evaluation).
