Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Name and explain the areas of responsibility and key tasks of the medical staff (i.e. doctor-specialist, medical resident, nurse, etc.) in simulated clinical situations included in the study course.
2.Rational justification of the actions taken by analysing the execution of the simulated clinical situation scenario after-consultation. Students will obtain supplementation in the care of the patient, for factors contributing to recovery. Demonstrate orientation in the latest medical technologies used in clinical care.
Skills
1.Demonstrate the successful application of clinical skills acquired in previous courses and developed in this course in the implementation of simulated clinical situations.
2.• Capable of vascular access using invasive and non-invasive medical technologies. • Capable of peripheral and central vascular approach care for patients of different ages. • Capable of providing respiratory diarrhoea and maintaining respiratory function. • Be able to apply oxygenation and ventilation assurance methods. • Capable of using the laryngeal mask, Combitube Airway, and other respiratory devices. • Capable of assisting or performing cricothyrootomy and tracheostoma care according to competence. • Capable of using invasive and non-invasive respiratory support technologies. • Is able to assess the effectiveness of respiratory support and the patient’s vital functions. • Able to apply basic and extended life support algorithms. • Capable of using defibrillator and automatic external defibrillator during resuscitation. • Be able to take emergency care measures in the event of shock, bleeding and political events. • Is able to provide emergency care for acute pain syndrome. • Be able to assess the risk of aspiration and ensure a safe enteral diet. • Capable of providing fluid and nutritional intake using invasive and non-invasive technologies. • Capable of care and replacement of stoma, PEG and probe according to competence. • Be able to perform wound care and apply appropriate medical technologies. • Capable of urogenital system care and catheter replacement. • Is able to assess the patient’s vital functions and monitoring results. • Is able to administer medication in emergency situations. • Be able to document the therapeutic and care interventions performed. • Be able to provide structured information transfer within a multidisciplinary team. • Capable of practical application of ambulance algorithms in simulation scenarios. • Be able to safely use medical technology and equipment according to the patient’s needs.
Competences
1.Student is able to demonstrate successful integration of knowledge, skills and competences by effectively participating in the implementation of simulated clinical situations.
2.Ability to apply and evaluate appropriate clinical procedures, medical devices and other activities for optimal patient care. To be able to analyse situations, to argue, to formulate and explain their point of view in a logical way.
