About Study Course

Objective

Develop students’ understanding of the theoretical basics, key models and case formulation principles of cognitive and behavioural approaches, as well as develop the ability to analyse and evaluate the use of CBT approaches in dealing with anxiety and mood difficulties in the context of health psychology.

Preliminary Knowledge

Study courses Clinical Psychology, study of cognitive processes and personality, psychological counselling (individual and systemic approach) have been acquired.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Defines basic concepts and theoretical principles of cognitive and behavioural approaches. Clarifies the principles for the formulation of the CBT case. Describes the objectives of cognitive and behavioural approach techniques and their application.

Skills

1.Analyses the customer’s situation by identifying thoughts, emotions and behaviour in the CBT model. Develop case formulation based on CBT principles. Assess the suitability of cognitive and behavioural techniques for a particular case.

Competences

1.Independently develops case conceptualization (vicious circle) and identifies appropriate cognitive and behavioral intervention strategies for anxiety and depression disorders. Links concepts of cognitive and behavioural approaches to real-life situations. Used in the identification, evaluation and restructuring of negative automatic thoughts of cognitive and behavioural techniques.
