About Study Course

Objective

Acquire and improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills in rheumatological diseases.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon completion of the rheumatology course, using acquired knowledge and understanding, resident will be able to: 1) explain the mechanism of action, indications, side effects and contraindications of the most frequently used medication groups in rheumatology; 2) assess the patient’s vital signs and interpret the results of pulmonary examination; 3) order appropriate diagnostic tests and interpret the results; 4) define differential diagnoses; 5) appoint an appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plan.

Skills

1.Upon completion of the rheumatology course, using acquired knowledge and understanding, resident will be able to : 1) summarize key information regarding the patient’s physical examination and additional diagnostic tests; 2) apply appropriate diagnostic tests and treatment methods; 3) present a rheumatological patient during morning rounds, professors’ visits, consiliums; 4) develop a treatment and rehabilitation plan.

Competences

1.Using the acquired knowledge and skills resident will be able to define a diagnosis, make differential diagnosis, interpret test data, develop a structured treatment and rehabilitation plan, logically define and explain the treatment objectives, assess its effectiveness, side effects.
