Objective

Scientific research provides for the doctoral student’s independent writing of the doctoral thesis under the supervision of the supervisor of doctoral thesis.

Knowledge

1.On successful course completion, the doctoral student acquires knowledge about writing a doctoral thesis, research strategy and design of the thesis.

Skills

1.The doctoral student will be able to perform scientific research work in the field of psychology, incl. to determine the work strategy, to create the research design, to select special literature, to compile the material, to choose the appropriate theory and method, to formulate the conclusions.

Competences

1.Professional competence in psychology. To carry out modern, original research in the science of psychology.

Scientific research provides for the doctoral student’s independent writing of the doctoral thesis under the supervision of the supervisor of doctoral thesis. Upon completion of the course, the doctoral student must meet the following requirements: to maintain constant contacts and work together with the supervisor of the doctoral thesis; to coordinate with the supervisor the topic of the doctoral thesis; to improve one’s knowledge of the research method in their field; to identify the scientific literature necessary for the thesis; to create the empirical basis necessary for the work; to submit a preliminary work plan to the supervisor; to inform the supervisor about the progress of research work on a regular basis, discussing achievements and scientific problems that have arisen; to show the parts of the text of the doctoral thesis written to the supervisor on a regular basis; to coordinate the texts of scientific publications with the supervisor; to inform RSU Department of Doctoral Studies about one’s work. The student's contribution to the improvement of the study process is the provision of meaningful feedback on the study course by filling out its evaluation questionnaire.
