Knowledge
1.Students understand the specifics of applied research (practical application of research to problem solving) and the methodology of research work (problem, topicality, purpose, object, subject, tasks, questions) in the field of police work; are familiar with quantitative and qualitative data collection methods (statistical data analysis, document analysis, case law research, case studies).
Skills
1.Able to independently identify and define a research problem in the field of law enforcement; select, classify and critically evaluate professional information from police databases and public registers; choose and reasonably apply data collection tools; logically structure and academically correctly design a research paper.
Competences
1.Able to independently select data, analyse and interpret norms, strictly adhering to research ethics; able to integrate research findings into the daily work of the police and to offer substantiated proposals for improving regulations or work organisation; able to present and argue the results obtained in research.
