About Study Course

Objective

To provide and enhance the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in pediatric proctology, per the pediatric surgical specialty’s requirements to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of pediatric surgery.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- to define conservative and surgical treatment indications in proctology for children of various ages. - to draft the examination and treatment plan for children with acute proctologic disorders. - to orientate with the diagnostic methods and instruments used in pediatric proctology, as well as the surgical treatment options and principles. To learn: • detailed theoretical knowledge of emergency situations in proctology at children of different ages • conservative and surgical treatment indications and use of surgical emergencies in children at different ages • diagnostic methods, instrumentation and apparatuses, and practical skills for diagnostic and therapeutic manipulation used in pediatric proctology, as well as surgical treatment methods of practical use for surgically profiled pediatric patients. • to determine an examination and treatment plan for patients with acute and chronic proctologic illnesses.

Skills

1.- To determine the indications for surgical treatment of the colon. - To carry out therapeutic surgical procedures for colonic illnesses. - to designate qualitative post-surgical treatment for patients after proctologic surgeries. - to prepare gastrointestinal tract prior surgery.

1.- To provide qualified assistance to children of various ages with surgical proctologic pathologies.
