About Study Course

Objective

To acquaint students with the basic principles of filming, lighting, composition and video editing in order to develop understanding of and practical skills for creating video stories during the study process and placement.

Preliminary Knowledge

Study courses Introduction to Journalism, Introduction to the Studies and Specialty, Introduction to Communication Theories have been acquired.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.After completing the study course, students will: • Recognise and compare different types of TV stories. • Have good knowledge of and analyse the functions of a TV production team. • Define, analyse and discuss the task of journalists in the TV production process. • Understand and substantiate the factors that influence the quality of light, sound and image in different conditions of TV story creation. • Tell, explain and compare the principles and techniques of TV story editing.

Skills

1.After completing the study course, students will: • Intend, plan and create TV stories on various topics independently. • Collect, select, understand and present information for TV stories. • Create a story according to the technical requirements and needs of television. • Match the story to the requirements of specific TV news programmes or other formats.

Competences

1.After completing the study course, students will: • Assess the reality, applying information to creation of audiovisual works. • Be responsible for the quality of the information collected and provided, the value and relevance of the sources of information, and the possible effects of the information. • Develop a critical attitude towards the content and form of the information presented in TV stories. • Develop a self-critical attitude to the value of information and the relevance of the information provided to the audience to its needs. • Use responsible, knowledge-based technologies in the process of producing TV stories.
