About Study Course

Objective

To acquaint students with the study process at RSU, the structure of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the organisation of the study work at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and to develop understanding of pharmacy as a profession and pharmacist's future job opportunities. In the Placement in Propaedeutics acquaint students with pharmacy premises and their functions, the daily tasks of a pharmacist, the first skills for various jobs in a pharmacy, as far as possible in connection with the preparation of medicines in a pharmacy.

Knowledge

1.As a result of the study course students will get acquainted with the organization of study work, will be able to find and become acquainted with the internal regulations of the RSU regulating study work.

3.As a result of the Placement in Propaedeutics, the student will be able to describe the main pharmacy premises, the functions to be performed in each room and sanitary hygiene requirements, recognize the tasks of the pharmacist as an advisor when providing pharmaceutical care.

3.As a result of the Placement in Propaedeutics, the student will be able to perform the simpler work tasks performed at the pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacist assistant (to design with price tags and to arrange, in accordance with the requirements of storage and regulatory enactments, medicines, health care products and food supplements, to clean pharmacy premises, to participate in the preparation of dosage forms).

During Placement im Propedeutics (total amount of placement - 20 hours), the student participates in the following work: 1) organising and cleaning the premises of a pharmacy, 2) washing, drying, sterilising and placement of dispensary dishes and equipment, 3) packaging and presentation of different forms of medicinal products, 4) drawing up records of packaging works for 3-5 different forms of medicinal products, 5) assisting an assistant, participate in the manufacture of different forms of medicinal products, 6) participate in the pricing and placement of different forms of medicinal products. 7) describe 4 patient service situations, reflecting the pharmacist as an advisor, providing pharmaceutical care.

50% of the examination assessment shall consist of a presentation after meeting with pharmaceutical professionals.

50% of the examination grade is the evaluation of placement. After completing the Placement in Propaedeutics, the student must submit to the moodle TURNITIN program as soon as possible a diary signed and stamped by the head of the pharmacy, which also contains the student's description. The student receives a mark on the placement after checking the diary and individual interviews with the placement supervisor remotely Zoom online or at the Department of Applied Pharmacy in person.
