About Study Course

Objective

To promote students’ understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of EU business law by providing theoretical knowledge and practical skills on EU commercial law, with a particular focus on the freedom of foundations within the EU to enable students to orient themselves in the EU business law.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.During the course, students will acquire knowledge on EU company law, regulatory framework of the single market, current EU Court of Justice case law related to EU business law. Upon successful completion of the course, students will identify the legal provisions governing the EU single market and EU legal practice.

Skills

1.Students will gain an understanding of the current regulatory framework and EU case law in EU company law, will reasonably discuss current issues in the EU single market regulation, and will make informed decisions in compliance with international legal provisions.

Competences

1.Based on the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge, students will be able to independently formulate and critically analyse practical problematic situations related to EU company law.

Preparation for participation in lectures and seminars: study of literature and case law, individual work – report. The report is an individual project where the student demonstrates their skills to analyse and systematise knowledge on a particular topic. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.

Knowledge will be tested in seminars in the form of tests and an exam. Skills will be tested in seminars, by solving cases on current issues of EU business law. Independent work by students: 50%. Examination: 50%.
