About Study Course

Objective

To introduce the system of mental health care for children and adolescents, applying the principles of multidisciplinary team work, involving professional specialists and providing professional care at all social levels. To introduce the use of the biopsychosocial model and the role of rehabilitation and social psychiatry in improving the functioning of children and adolescents with mental and behavioral disorders, developing abilities and reducing incapacity. To ensure the acquisition of knowledge about psychotherapeutic and psychological examination of children, psychotherapeutic diagnostics, indications and contraindications of psychological interventions. Provide insight into various evidence-based psychotherapy methods.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.They will know the international principles in the mental health care and rehabilitation of children and adolescents, the working principles, goals and tasks of the multidisciplinary team and its members in the context of psychiatric rehabilitation.

Skills

1.You will learn how to organize the work of a multidisciplinary team, involving professional specialists - child psychiatrists, psychotherapists, psychologists, audiologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, visual plastic art therapists, ensuring continuity of therapy, socialization and dissemination.

Competences

1.During the work process, you will understand the basic principles of teamwork in child psychiatry, you will be able to interview and collect anamnesis from the patient and his relatives. Correctly will outline the treatment plan, methods and expected results of patients and relatives included in the multidisciplinary team. I will plan opportunities for the development and improvement of my professional activity in therapeutic groups, as well as I will plan my scientific research development.

1. Train to evaluate the need for multiprofessional and/or multidisciplinary team members to be involved in developing the individual short-term and long-term care plan and plan teamwork; 2. To give an insight into the working principles, goals and tasks of various functional specialists in the context of psychiatric rehabilitation; 3. To provide knowledge and skills in the examination and understanding of a child with mental disorders in the psychological aspect, as well as the peculiarities of psychotherapy in the practice of children and adolescents; 4. To provide insight into helping people in various crisis situations (death of a loved one, serious illness, child abuse, family violence, addiction, accidents, suicide); provide basic knowledge in legal issues related to cases of crisis and violence; teach basic skills for crisis intervention; 5. To provide basic knowledge and teach basic skills in supportive psychotherapy.
