About Study Course

Objective

Develop critical thinking and analytical skills by studying in depth the principles of patient treatment planning and evaluation of therapeutic strategies.

Preliminary Knowledge

Successfully completed the preclinical course of Preclimnical course in Prosthetic Dentistry I, II, III. Successfully completed study course dental anatomy, physics and biomaterials skull aspects, emergency medical assistance, radiology, normal physiology, oral pathology diagnostics, clinical pharmacology, prostodontic clinic Dental technical laboratory.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Student will know the basic principles of assessing dental prognosis on the basis of which he or she will be able to offer the patient an optimal treatment plan.

Skills

1.Student will be able to develop a patient-centered treatment plan taking into account specific clinical situations and patient needs.

Competences

1.Student will be able to develop a patient-centered treatment plan identifying treatment problems, taking into account individual needs, health status and preferences, as well as providing alternative treatment options. The proposed plan will be justified by a science-based approach.

Colloquium no.1

An independent analysis of the patient’s clinical situation based on dental prognosis, the need for dental treatment resulting from proposed optimal and alternative treatment plans. The proposed plans are based on a science-based approach and provide predictions of specific treatment plans, clinical-laboratory steps.

The proposed plans are based on a science-based approach and provide predictions of specific treatment plans, clinical-laboratory steps.

Study course final exam

If in both colloquiums the student has received an assessment of at least 8 grade, the student shall automatically pass the final exam of the study course. The mean arithmetic grade of the two colloquiums appears in the end grade.

If in at least one colloquium a student has received an assessment of 4-7 grade, the student shall take the final exam of the study course: An independent analysis of a patient’s clinical situation based on dental prognosis and the need for dental treatment. Optimum and alternative plans based on science-based information should be offered. Clinical-laboratory steps should be named for the optimal treatment plan.
