About Study Course

Objective

To provide and enhance the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in cardiovascular surgery, per the pediatric surgical specialty’s requirements to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of pediatric surgery.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- conservative and surgical treatment indications of emergency cardiovascular surgical diseases for adults of various ages (with/without concomitant diseases) - examination and treatment plan drafting for patients with acute cardiovascular surgical disease; - patient preparation peculiarities for operations, emphasizing attention to emergency and urgent cardiovascular surgery, as well as basic principles of treatment in pre- and post-operative periods; - to orientate with the diagnostic methods and instruments used in emergency cardiovascular surgery, as well as the surgical treatment options and principles. • Detailed theoretical knowledge about emergency conditions of adults in cases of acute and chronic cardiovascular system illnesses; • Conservative and surgical treatment indications and their application in cardiovascular surgery in emergency situations for adults with concomitant illnesses; • Cardiovascular surgical diagnostic methods, instruments and apparatuses, practical skills for diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations, as well as surgical therapeutic method practical application for surgically profiled patients; • To draft an examination and treatment plan for patients with acute cardiovascular surgical diseases; • To provide qualified emergency assistance for patients with acute cardiovascular surgical diseases.

Skills

1.- to provide qualified emergency diagnostics and assistance for patients of various ages with acute cardiovascular surgical diseases and chronic surgical disease exacerbations; - to be able to institute adequate analgesic therapy post cardiovascular surgical treatment; - to perform examination and labeling before varicectomy; - to develop a prophylaxis and lifestyle plan for a patient post vascular surgery.

Competences

1.- to provide qualified initial and emergency assistance for patients of various ages (with/without concomitant diseases) with cardiovascular surgical pathology.
