About Study Course
Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Profound knowledge about structure of maxillofacial tissues. Knowledge about development, growth and maturation of craniofacial structures. Mechanisms regulating this process. Knowledge about cell metabolism under normal and abnormal conditions, tissue formation and proliferation. Knowledge about tooth eruption. Knowledge about modern understanding of stem cells, their use in medicine.
Skills
1.To know how to prepare histological preparations of soft and hard tissues of the maxillofacial region. To be able to recognise and interpret histological preparations from the maxillofacial region. To resolve situation tasks about histophysiology of differentiated cells. Using an optical microscope and electron microscopic graphs to distinguish membrane embraced organoids and membraneless organoids, to characterise cell functions based on cell structure. To recognise different tissue structures.
Competences
1.To be competent in histological examination of the maxillofacial region: methods and interpretation.
