About Study Course
Objective
To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills according to the requirements of the geriatrician specialty and related to mental illness in the elderly.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knowledge: recognition of geriatric syndromes, dementia, depression, delirium, psychosis. Psychiatric disorders caused by cerebrovascular diseases (atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension). The problem of involutional psychoses.
Skills
1.Skills - ability to use tools to recognise depression (Geriatric Depression Scale), tools to detect cognitive impairment and dementia (MMSE, Global Assessment of Functioning, Clock Drawing Test). Ability to organise work in a team.
Competences
1.- Treatment tactics in cases of acute psychosis. - Compliance with the principles of psychotropic medication use in geriatrics.
