About Study Course
Objective
The aim of the course is to develop students' understanding of the role of philosophy of science and epistemology in psychology and to strengthen their critical thinking, argumentation, and scientific evidence evaluation skills, providing a foundation for evidence-based psychological understanding and professional practice.

Students must independently choose one psychological problem (for example, how to reduce depression, raise motivation, prevent procuration, etc.) and prepare a 1 - 4 page (Times New Roman, 12) essay, critically evaluating the information available about the particular problem using different sources of information: artificial intelligence tools (at least 2 sources), popular scientific sources (at least 2 sources) and scientific publications (at least 2 sources). Within the scope of the work, students shall:

Assessment Students are assessed on their ability to explain the fundamental principles of philosophy of science, epistemology, critical thinking, logic, open science, and research ethics; analyse psychology-related information and arguments; identify logical fallacies, cognitive biases, and ethical challenges; evaluate the scientific validity of psychological claims; distinguish scientific from non-scientific information sources; analyse empirical evidence; and formulate well-reasoned, evidence-based conclusions using scientific terminology, academic language, and the principles of professional ethics. Requirements for Successful Course Completion To receive a final course grade, students must meet the following requirements:
