About Study Course

Objective

To prepare students for the development of strength abilities using heavy athletics training means, including exercises, training methods, and equipment, with an emphasis on basic strength exercises, kettlebell exercises, and exercises involving external resistance.

Improvement of kettlebell snatch and jerk technique following the acquisition of the relevant teaching methodology. Students are required to perform a prescribed combination of kettlebell snatch and jerk exercises.

The kettlebell snatch combination consists of a one-arm kettlebell swing, followed by a one-arm kettlebell snatch, after which the kettlebell is transferred to the opposite hand and the same sequence is performed with the other arm.

The kettlebell jerk combination consists of simultaneously cleaning two kettlebells to the rack position, followed by two consecutive jerks from the rack position without placing the kettlebells on the floor between repetitions.

The technical performance criteria are explained during the practical sessions. Students may request an additional demonstration from the lecturer by prior arrangement. For each technical error identified, the grade is reduced by one point. A minimum grade of 4 is required to successfully pass the assessment.

Creating a training plan

Based on the knowledge acquired during the study course, the student must prepare a one-day training plan (monocycle) using the prescribed lesson-plan template and following an individual assignment provided by the lecturer. The training plan is prepared at the beginning of the assessment within 30 minutes. The student then conducts a one-hour simulated instructional training session based on the prepared plan.

If the student makes errors in terminology, exercise selection and sequencing, or teaching methodology when preparing the plan, or, during the practical delivery, fails to adhere to the allocated time, conducts the warm-up, main, or cool-down parts incorrectly, fails to comply with safety requirements, does not correctly count repetitions, or adopts an inappropriate coaching position, the grade is reduced by one point for each identified deficiency. A minimum grade of 4 is required to successfully pass the assessment.

The examination grade for the study course is cumulative and is calculated as the average of the grades obtained in the kettlebell technique demonstration and in the preparation and delivery of the training plan. An examination grade may be awarded only if both assessments have been successfully completed.

If, for any reason, one of the interim assessments has not been successfully completed, it may be retaken during a scheduled class, subject to prior agreement with the lecturer. When retaking the practical delivery of the training plan, the student is responsible for arranging a participant to act as the simulated trainee.
