About Study Course

Objective

To enable the prospective sports specialist to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and competences in the fields of professional and sports ethics, including codes of professional and sports ethics, as well as to practise respectful and fair treatment in communication.

1.Formulate and name the basic principles, values and norms of professional ethics in sport.

3.Discuss basing mutual relations on fairness, truthfulness and benevolence, to assess and recognise unethical or erroneous decisions by themselves or other actors, and to correct them.

4.Explain ethical principles, balanced decision-making as necessary through cooperation and agreement with parents or legal representatives and stakeholders on ethical problem solving, dispute resolution, pressure relief, etc. in the training process.

When preparing seminars, students acquire the compulsory literature of the course, acquaint themselves with codes of professional ethics and other documents on the instructions of the teaching staff.

Group work within seminars

As part of the seminars, students work in groups, analyzing codes of ethics and various situation tasks. Students actively participate in discussions on the topic of each class.

At the end of the class, students shall submit a mutual assessment of the work of the group members in accordance with the assessment criteria specified by the teaching staff. The mutual assessment neutrecates the final assessment of the seminar.

Presentation

30.00% from total grade
10 points

Students to prepare an individual presentation on the issue of the chosen professional qualification ethics in accordance with the directions offered by the teaching staff. Students shall find and use an appropriate scientific paper or study on the selected topic in preparing the presentation. The presentation shall be submitted to the e-learning environment and presented to the group in one of the last seminars.

Examination

30.00% from total grade
10 points

At the end of the study course, students take a theoretical examination on the topics of the study course. The test consists of multiple choice and open (essay) type questions. The examination shall be conducted in writing in person.
