About Study Course
Objective
To get primary experience and skills in cardiac surgical anesthesia, performing surgery under CPB and managing early postoperative period.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.To know how to prepare a patient for cardiac surgery and anesthesia, how to monitor patient circulation and manage CPB.
Skills
1.To manage blood clotting system, to intubate the patient, to establish venous and arterial lines, to evaluate circulation vitals in ICU in patients after cardiac surgery.
Competences
1.To provide primary and professional emergency aid to patients.

The resident (based on the data of the specialized departments, current guidelines) constantly creates protocols for the acute situation of cardiology and cardiac surgery (bleeding, imminent arrhythmias, rapidly progressive heart failure [INTERMACS profile 1, profile 2, profile 3]).
The resident compiles an overview of the types of ECMO systems, indications for use, operating modes. Preferably in graphic form.
