About Study Course

Objective

Students should be taught the basics of Pilates theory, explain anatomical, physiological aspects of Pilates method impact, teach Pilates exercises, Pilates class program building principles and basic principles for conducting these classes, and develop understanding of Pilates integration into health sport (fitness) programmes.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knows Pilates’ theory as a health sport (fitness) method and understands the effects of this technique on the body.

Individual work and tests

Video analysis. Test with multiple choice of answers on Pilates theory questions.

2.Students is familiar with the repertoire of Pilates carpet exercises, the effects, applications and contraindications of these exercises.

The lesson completes a test that tests knowledge of Pilates method theory and demonstrates the student’s understanding of the integrity of Pilates theory and anatomy, physiology, pedagogy, sports training theory, basics of exercise and terminology.

Submitting a video of the performance and presentation of three Pilates exercises.

Student chooses three Pilates exercises and captures three separate videos showing and explaining the performance of these exercises. The videos are submitted to e-Studios.

Creating and conducting a Pilates group mat lesson program.

40.00% from total grade
10 points

Student creates Pilates group mat class program and submits it to e-studies. In person, the student conducts a shortened version of this program for members of the group.
