About Study Course

Objective

Deepen residents' theoretical knowledge and practical skills in radiology necessary for rheumatologist's specialty. To train medical residents in rheumatology: to understand radiologic manifestations of generalised pathologies of musculoskeletal connective tissue diseases (autoimmune, inflammatory, infectious, immunodeficiency, metabolic pathologies) non-inflammatory osteoarthritis, vasculitis, spondylopathy, their role and importance in diagnostics, differential diagnostics and clinic of rheumatic diseases: selection of therapy, monitoring disease dynamics and treatment efficiency. To provide knowledge about medical technologies and methods used in rheumatology of contemporary radiology and basic principles and opportunities of their use.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Demonstrates in-depth and expanded knowledge of the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases of the musculoskeletal system and autoimmune connective tissue system, which provides a basis for creative thinking in clinical practice and research, as well as the ability to interdisciplinary. 1. Contemporary medical technologies and methods of imaging in rheumatology, basic principles and opportunities. Radiologic manifestations, symptoms and syndromes in case of rheumatic diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, spondylopathy, sacroiliitis, Reiter syndrome, lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, methabolic pathologies (podagra, pseudopodagra), osteoporosis, changes in kidneys, lungs, etc.). Their role and importance in etiology, pathogenesis, diagnostics and clinic of rheumatic diseases. 2. Application of radiological technologies in diagnostics, differential diagnostics of rheumatic diseases and monitoring of disease dynamics. 3. Prescription indications and contraindications of radiological technologies in case of rheumatic diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, spondylopathy, sacroiliitis, Reiter syndrome, lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, methabolic pathologies (podagra, etc.).

Skills

1.The doctor understands the nature of the specific problem, diagnostic algorithms and is able to provide professional specialized assistance, as well as practically implements diagnostic, treatment and prevention measures. Is able to argue and discuss complex or systemic aspects of rheumatology with both specialists and non-specialists. Able to draw up the medical documentation to be used, make entries on an outpatient and inpatient medical card. Able to independently direct the development and specialization of their competencies, take responsibility for work results and their analysis, conduct business, innovate in rheumatology, perform work, research or further learning in complex and unpredictable conditions and, if necessary, transform them using new approaches. To refer a rheumatology patient for immunologic laboratory tests and assess their results.

Competences

1.The doctor works in accordance with his / her powers at the highest level of acquisition and use of knowledge, skills, attitudes, diagnosing, treating, rehabilitating, and preventing diseases of the musculoskeletal system and autoimmune connective tissue system, independently planning and organizing the improvement and development of professional competence, takes responsibility for the work of staff teams and is able to innovate and entrepreneurship. Make informed, verifiable and scientifically sound decisions regarding patient health, public health and the environment; justify and reflect decisions in medical records. To use the acquired knowledge and skills to make diagnosis, perform differential diagnosis, interpret examination data, develop a structural treatment and rehabilitation plan.
