About Study Course

Objective

To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills according to the requirements of the surgery speciality regulation to prepare the doctor for certification in surgeon’s speciality according to laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- Basics, principles, indications and equipment of diagnostic US imaging; - US diagnosis of chronic surgical diseases; - US diagnosis of acute surgical diseases.

Skills

1.- to select appropriate diagnostic US methods for surgical patients; - to interpret abdominal and endocrine US findings.

Competences

1.Competence – to interpret and apply in practice US findings in surgical patients.
