About Study Course

Objective

The purpose of the digital literacy course is to provide students with knowledge, skills and competences in the use of digital technologies.

Preliminary Knowledge

General knowledge at the secondary school level and basic computer skills: the ability to use a computer and web browser, manage files and folders, and perform basic tasks with digital information. No prior knowledge or skills in programming are required.

The student independently completes e-learning lessons on the fundamentals of digital literacy, the development of digital technologies, authentication, and digital resources used in healthcare. During each lesson, the student studies the theoretical material and completes the integrated assessment questions. If the first answer is incorrect, the student is given an opportunity to review the relevant section of the theoretical material and answer again.

Organisation, Acquisition and Preparation of Digital Information

The student independently completes e-learning lessons on the digital information life cycle, information classification, data preprocessing, Big Data, and data acquisition methods. The student completes integrated theoretical and practical assessment tasks, including tasks involving data classification, filtering, sorting, and preparation for further processing.

Test

The student independently completes e-learning lessons on data analysis tools, descriptive statistics, graphical representation of digital information, and chart types. The student completes integrated assessment tasks on data analysis, selection and interpretation of graphs and charts, and their appropriate use.

Cybersecurity and Protection of Patient Data

The student independently completes an e-learning lesson on cybersecurity in healthcare, common cyber threats, social engineering, and methods for protecting digital information. The student completes integrated assessment questions and evaluates situations related to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient data.
