About Study Course

Objective

1. To help students acquire basic knowledge in Clinical Pharmacology, including the medications used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, their effects on the pregnant woman, the foetus, and the condition of the newborn during the use of medications. 2. To analyse it.

Preliminary Knowledge

In physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, gynaecology and obstetrics, neonatology. Knowledge of the official language.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.After successfully meeting the requirements of the study course, students will have acquired knowledge that will allow them to describe the main pharmacological groups of medicinal products, preparations used in the therapy of various diseases, including obstetrics, to formulate the mechanisms of action of medicinal products, indications and contraindications, as well as side effects.

Skills

1.As a result of completing the study course, students will be able to make a rational choice of preparations according to the clinical situation, justify the use of medicines and their characteristics for the pregnant woman, the foetus and the newborn.

Competences

1.As a result of completing the study course, students will be able to: 1. Use basic theoretical knowledge and competence in general, clinical pharmacology and pharmacotherapy, combining and replacing medications in cases of various clinical situations, including during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. 2. Describe preparations of pharmacological groups. 3. Formulate their mechanisms of action, indications and contraindications, as well as side effects. 4. Evaluate the risks and benefits of treatment. 5. Independently obtain, select and analyse information about medications, application and use thereof in the treatment process. 6. Demonstrate a scientific approach to resolution of topical issues, as well as be competent in specific literature.
