About Study Course

Objective

Gain extensive and up-to-date knowledge of the topical issues in the health sector. Improve students' knowledge gained in the previous years of study. In addition, learn the skills and attitudes required for fulfillment of the basic tasks and responsibilities of future professional activity and professional knowledge and competences.

Knowledge acquired in pre-clinical and clinical study courses.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have acquired knowledge of current issues in a variety of medical disciplines, including diagnosis and differential diagnosis, multidisciplinary approaches to complex issues, as well as knowledge of clinical risk management and patient safety, analysis of errors and irregularities; safety of information systems, protection of personal data; the rights and duties of patients and doctors; principles of employment organisations and organisation of work; the forms of cooperation; and human trafficking and child protection issues. Knowledge of the role of lifelong learning and professional development in career development planning will be gained. Principles for the organisation of health, financial management and financing of health organisations.

Skills

1.Students will be able to develop a modern multidisciplinary approach to addressing various medical issues, and will be able to manage patient safety and risks. They will respect the basic principles of personal data protection, organise their own and team work, understand the need to develop professional qualifications.

Competences

1.The competence acquired upon completion of the study course will allow to organize modern, safe and complex patient care. Including recognition and management of clinical risks. The acquired competence will allow the safe use of information and communication technologies for the performance of the work. The acquired competence will allow to observe the basic principles of patient data protection, and to enhance the ability to communicate with law enforcement authorities and non-governmental organisations; to understand the healthcare system and its funding arrangements. The competence gained will allow for the planning and purposeful development of professional qualifications in the form of lifelong learning.
