Knowledge
1.Will know about food chain and monitoring policies in Latvia: National food chain monitoring; The tasks and objectives of the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD); The structure and functions of the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD).
Skills
1.Practical participation of the student in inspections of food businesses: Food surveillance monitoring activities (carrying out and documenting inspections, evaluating HACCP/self-control documentation, participating in laboratory tests); Skills in entering survey protocols into the PVD database.
Competences
1.Will be able to explain the National Food Chain Monitoring Programme: Legislative requirements in the food chain; Procedures, instructions, decrees of the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD); Will be able to interpret the results and make the necessary recommendations in the field of food safety and monitoring.

|
Together with the placement supervisor, the student compiles a specific placement schedule in order to complete all placement tasks.
During the placement, the student makes entries on a regular basis in the placement report on the completed work.
The student prepares the final report on the placement during the placement and submits it to the placement supervisor for review.
Prepares a presentation to defend the placement.
