About Study Course

Objective

To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in maxillofacial surgery according to the requirements of the surgery specialty regulation in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the surgeon specialty.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- emergency conditions in maxillofacial surgery; - diagnosis, treatment of maxillofacial trauma; - purulent infections of the oral, maxillofacial region. - etiopathogenesis, statistics, principles of diagnosis and treatment of benign tumours of facial skin, lips and mouth, precancers and cancers. - tumours of the salivary glands and facial bones. - reconstructive surgery.

Skills

1.To perform jaw splinting, wound care, local incisions and excision of skin formations in the maxillofacial area.

Competences

1.To provide first aid and emergency qualified assistance to patients with a maxillofacial pathology.
