Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.The resident has acquired extensive, comprehensive and up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of medical examination and medical tests in the Latvian National Armed Forces, institutions subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior and the Prison Administration. The resident understands the diagnosis of occupational diseases, principles of treatment and rehabilitation, risk factors of the working environment, knows how to assess them, and understands social insurance guarantees for patients suffering from occupational diseases.
Skills
1.The resident has learned the necessary theoretical knowledge, practical skills and professional activities in assessing the adequacy of health status, personal examination, medical documentation for service in the Latvian National Armed Forces, institutions subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior and the Prison Administration. The resident has improved the diagnosis of occupational diseases, application of principles of treatment and rehabilitation in practical work; is able to assess the risk factors of the working environment.
Competences
1.The resident is able to choose the appropriate means and appropriate action for the given situation. The resident analyses and finds correlations, assesses and addresses issues including the possibilities of treatment and rehabilitation of patients with occupational diseases, occupational rehabilitation, in line with the level of development of modern science, disease or trauma forecast, functional condition of a person and patient's work capacity.

To acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in assessing the adequacy of the state of health, personal examination of a person, assessment of medical documentation for service in the Latvian National Armed Forces, institutions subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior and the Prison Administration; assessment of the degree of disability, causality and functional abilities of a person’s health disorders. To get acquainted with the possibilities of treatment and rehabilitation of the people suffering from occupational diseases, to get acquainted with the basic process and results of the system, to learn how to grant various insurance services in the event of occupational diseases together with the person in charge. The resident independently studies the literature.
