About Study Course

Objective

The goal of the research work is to produce original research within the sector, to develop skills in publishing the results of their research work in the form of theses and scientific articles cited internationally. Also, to improve transferable skills, communication and reasoning skills in presenting research results, both on a local and international scientific scale. As well as to provide the opportunity for independent work, continuously increasing qualification, participation in scientific summer schools, scientific projects in the topic related to the doctoral thesis, participation in doctoral schools, foreign experience exchange programmes, etc.c

Preliminary Knowledge

The research experience of the Master's thesis, defended research work upon completion of the Master’s degree study programme. The person has won the selection contest for doctoral studies, in which he/she presented the research idea and the project plan.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Develop the knowledge of how to evaluate the problem to be addressed, analyse the causes and find a solution. Ability to evaluate scientific data, plan scientific research.

Skills

1.Produce argumentation, justify conclusions and maintain collegial discussion; communicate and cooperate at local and international level on topical research issues in the field of the relevant science sector. The doctoral student will be able to carry out scientific research in the chosen sector, including defining the work strategy, creating the research design, selecting special literature, collecting material, choosing the appropriate theory and technique, and formulating conclusions.

Competences

1.To be able to fully operate in the field of the relevant science sector, to analyse research projects, participate in the implementation of projects, communicate professionally related to their field of research work, and integrate interdisciplinary directions for achieving results. Capable of carrying out modern, original research in the selected science sector.

Participation in scientific activities integration of acquired knowledge and skills in research. The doctoral student has to submit reports on the direktor of the programme performance of research activity within the time limit specified by the direktor. Scientific research work provides for participation in summer schools, scientific projects in the topic related to the doctoral thesis, participation in doctoral schools, foreign experience exchange programmes, etc.c. The student's contribution to the improvement of the study process is the provision of meaningful feedback on the study course by filling out its evaluation questionnaire.
