About Study Course
Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.- to describe morphological examination methods; - to evaluate possibilities of using different morphological examination methods; - to describe principles of electron microscopy; - to characterise pathological changes in different tissues; - to evaluate most common errors in the interpretation of results.
Skills
1.- to perform routine fixation and paraffin embedding of different tissues; - to prepare tissue sections and stained preparations for routine morphological examination; - to evaluate preparations stained in daily work routine; - to perform microscoping methods for specifically hard tissues and implants; - to prepare and analyse immunohistochemical preparations in optical and fluorescence microscopes.
Competences
1.To perform morphological examinations of human tissues for diagnostics of different diseases. To select tissue staining and microscoping methods, to analyse the quality of prepared preparations. To use histopathological analyses in medical laboratory practice and differential diagnostics of diseases. To interpret results and to recommend further examination activity to clinicians.
