About Study Course
Objective
Preliminary Knowledge
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.As a result of the study course students will be able to name and describe anesthesiology and intensive care methods, recognize and describe shock (especially hypovolemic, anaphylactic, septic), will be able to perform in-depth cardiopulmonary resuscitation, will be able to name and describe changes in pathophysiological and biochemical processes effects on the body and transmission of nociceptive impulses to the CNS, will characterize the types of pain syndrome blockade in the reflex arc stages, the basic principles of anesthesia, their advantages and side effects, peculiarities of preoperative surgery, basic principles of preoperative preparation and perioperative care, critical conditions and basics of intensive care. As a result of the study course students will gain basic knowledge of the principles of disaster medical consequences, providing emergency care to as many victims as possible as soon as possible, following the principle of priority, as well as basic knowledge of clinical toxicology - toxicological kinetics, clinical course of poisoning opportunities and peculiarities.
Skills
1.It will be possible to perform electrical defibrillation of the heart, basic measures of advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, ensure airway permeability with instrumental methods (airways, laryngeal mask, laryngeal tube, tracheal intubation, crichothyrotomy), will be able to assess the condition of the comatose patient. Will be able to sort victims at the scene and in hospitals, will be able to provide victims with vital functions and the necessary emergency treatment, according to the nature of the disaster and injury, will be able to use personal protective equipment; based on medical history, patient complaints, clinical symptoms and laboratory tests will be able to diagnose acute intoxications, assess their severity and the amount of treatment required.
Competences
1.It will be possible to perform electrical defibrillation of the heart, basic measures of advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, ensure airway permeability with instrumental methods (airways, laryngeal mask, laryngeal tube, cricothyrotomy). Will be able to provide victims with vital functions and the necessary emergency treatment, based on medical history, patient complaints, clinical symptoms and laboratory tests.

Examination (MCQ test; analysis of clinical cases; cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including defibrillation; methods of ensuring airway patency and ventilation of patients' artificial lungs).
Evaluation criteria in the theoretical multi-answer test: more than 75% of correct answers.
Evaluation Criteria for Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Including Defibrillation for a Mannequin - Know and Practically Perform Basic Resuscitation Algorithm for Environmental Safety, Response Testing, Emergency Calling, Respiratory Liberation, Respiratory Testing, Chest Compression, Artificial Lung Ventilation, Artificial Lung Ventilation, heart rate analysis, defibrillator charging, defibrillation safety check, practical defibrillation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, repeat heart rate analysis, pulse and respiration check, intravenous medication, and a description of future tactics. In total, at least 28 points must be obtained according to a special evaluation table, which corresponds to 70% of the accurately realized manipulations.
Ensuring airway patency requires knowledge of the practical application of the devices used, rapid and traumatic insertion into the airways, ventilation control and maintenance, and fixation of the inserted tube.
