About Study Course

Objective

To develop an understanding of mental and psychiatric illnesses from a medical, psychological and social perspective in the context of different age groups, to develop practical skills in patient interviews, emergency assistance situations in case of acute psychiatric pathologies. To provide theoretical knowledge on mental care.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Will describe the aetiopathogenesis, clinic, basic diagnostic and treatment principles of psychiatric and mental illnesses.

Skills

1.The student will be able to evaluate the aetiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, basic principles of diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric diseases and differentiate them according to severity and degree of danger, define them according to the ICD-10 classification. Will demonstrate therapeutic communication skills with patients of different ages with mental illnesses.

Competences

1.Will be able to evaluate and solve case problems related to mental illnesses, differentiate between psychotic disorders, design activities in cases of acute psychiatric pathologies and in crisis situations, and will be able to provide emergency assistance in cases of psychosis.
