About Study Course

Objective

The study course aims to raise awareness of the possibilities of mutual interrelation between psychology and public health and to present students with fundamental principles in psychology applied in public health and its suitability in public health science and practice.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Will be able to define psychology science and describe the specifics and applicability of its principles and actions in the context of public health.

Skills

1.Will be able to recognize psychological topics in the public health problematic cases. Will be able to identify the presence of psychological factors in choices related to health behaviour.

Competences

1.Will be able to offer a wider and more elastic view of public health problems and perform an adequate application of psychology knowledge for solving problems related to public health.

The student independently prepares an essay-type description of the application of psychological knowledge in the analysis of a specific public health problem.

1) participation in seminars, group work, quality of individual independent work (5%) 2) situation analysis on the application of psychological knowledge in understanding and solving specific public health problems, which the student prepares in writing and submits in e-studies until the day of the written exam (45%) 3) written exam on the theoretical material of the study course (50%).
