About Study Course

Objective

Within the study course, students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basics of excursion creation and execution, as well as the role of a guide. The course will provide the chance to theoretically and practically learn excursion planning, content creation, organization, and leadership. Additionally, students will become familiar with the related laws and regulations of excursion planning and organization in Latvia.

Preliminary Knowledge

Professional baker's prior knowledge in general theoretical study courses and industry-specific theoretical foundation courses.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Understands the types of excursions, the basic principles of planning, organisation and management, knows LR legislation in relation to the organisation and management of excursions.

2.Understand the interaction between nature and the cultural environment.

3.Understand building a guide’s narrative, places to create experiences.

Skills

1.Knows how to choose a tour route, attractions and appropriate activities appropriate to the interests, age, fitness of the tour participants.

2.Knows how to plan, organise and run tours.

Competences

1.Expertly evaluate and analyse the tour, as a recreational event and related problems.

2.Using the acquired theoretical basics and skills, professional issues are addressed in relation to the planning, organisation and implementation of excursions as recreational activities.
