About Study Course
Objective
To provide theoretical knowledge on issues regarding sexual and reproductive health and family planning, as well as to develop practical skills in solving problems of sexual and reproductive health and family planning.
Preliminary Knowledge
Preliminary knowledge in physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, psychology.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.As a result of completing the study course students gain basic knowledge of concepts, basic principles, legal aspects, problems of sexual and reproductive health, principles of choosing family planning and contraceptive methods, indications, contraindications and usage.
Skills
1.Upon successful completion of the course, students will know how to: • provide recommendations regarding sexual and reproductive health issues to individuals of various age and gender; • provide recommendations regarding family planning and contraceptive methods, by helping to make a choice, according to the individual’s needs; • educate members of society about issues regarding sexual and reproductive health, as well as family planning and contraception.
Competences
1.Upon successful completion of the course, student will be able to: • assess the importance of sexual and reproductive health in individual’s life; • objectively assess the compatibility of a particular family planning and contraceptive method to a specific individual; • assess the necessity to promote, preserve and maintain sexual and reproductive health.

Students independently create theoretical parts of the course for deeper comprehension presentations according to the topics of the practical classes. The presentation will include the relevance of the problem raised, the tasks of the midwife, existing obstacles and ways of resolving it. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must complete the study course assessment questionnaire on the student Portal. |

The following will be assessed as part of the study course: Independent and active work in classes (constitutes 50% of the final assessment). During remote classes, only those classes are counted in which the camera is always on and the student actively participates in its course. Students who have completed all the specified tasks in e-studies in a timely manner (by the last day of classes in this study course) and have actively participated in all classes will be admitted to the final examination. Final examination - exam - oral, group work, drawing out a situation task (constitutes 50% of the final assessment). |
