About Study Course

Objective

To test master's competencies and skills in the profession and their ability to evaluate the development process of their competences and skills during their studies, as well as their professional development plan.

Preliminary Knowledge

Observation Practice, Professional Development Group, Personal and Developmental Psychology, Art Therapy History, Theories, Assessment in AT, AT for different patient groups in psychiatry and medical rehabilitation.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.According to the case description, theoretical substantiation of methods and techniques of art therapy is performed, student justifies the choice of theoretical approach to work with patient groups, critically analyses the peculiarities of organisation of art therapy process and interventions for working with patient groups.

Skills

1.According to the case description, the patient(s) shall be assessed in the context of their art therapy specialisation, and an appropriate theoretical approach to work with the relevant patient group shall be selected. Student creates an art therapy plan for a particular patient/ group, taking into account the specificity of the patient group, age range and potential risks. Chooses and uses appropriate art therapy techniques and interventions. Critically analyses and evaluates the art therapy process and outcome.

Competences

1.Applies art therapy methods, techniques and interventions according to the specificity of the patient group and the goal of art therapy. Organizes and manages art therapy as a simulation game. Analyses the dynamics of the art therapy process and interprets the results. The basic principles of professional and general ethics are followed during the training session. During the training session and analysing the study session, students recognise their professional limitations and opportunities. Perform self-reflection.

Systematically read the indicated sources. Prepare for a training session (in the specialty of arts therapy) in a simulation game. Searching, selecting and analysing the theoretical sources in the context of the raffled qualification exam case. Preparing a case for presentation.

The theoretical background of the lottery case, the joint plan of art therapy and the plan of the particular session have been prepared in writing. Practical presentation of a single session in the form of a simulation game. Written self-reflection on the work done with the patient.
