About Study Course

Objective

To provide the student with the possibility to independently develop an individual pilot study on the basis of a fully selected and co-ordinated topic of qualification work with the work supervisor in order to select, justify and validate the design of the qualification work study, formulate the research question, purpose and tasks, as well as prepare a methodologically justified basis for further full-scale development of qualification work in the study course qualification work.

Preliminary Knowledge

Ability to independently select and critically evaluate scientific literature, ability to use scientific databases and reference management tools, knowledge of English for reading and analysing professional literature, understanding basic principles of information literacy in the context of qualification work.

Knowledge

1.Qualitative, reliable and scientifically substantiated medical and dental information will be recognised from sources identified by keywords.

2.Describe the structure of the qualification work, as well as research designs and evidence levels.

3.Understand the ways in which the research question, hypothesis, purpose and tasks are formulated, as well as the principles for planning the content of research (qualification) work.

5.Understand the principles for planning and writing the content of the theoretical part of the research paper, in accordance with the principles for the creation of the research paper.

1.Organise the sources of qualitative, reliable and scientifically substantiated medical and dental information identified by keywords in flowcharts.

2.Define the subject of the qualification paper and formulate the research question, aim and objectives of the qualification paper.

3.The plans will design the study and individually develop the research instrument for the pilot study, examining the possibilities for its use within the framework of the qualification work.

4.Prepare an application for an ethical authorisation for the development of scientific work according to the sample provided by RSU Ethics Committee.

5.Integrate the results of the pilot study for further writing of the qualification work, preparing the methodological basis for the qualification work.

Competences

1.Will be able to independently develop an individual pilot study within the scope of the planned qualification work and integrate the results of the pilot study into the selection and justification of the design of the qualification work study.

Pilot study

The student shall submit an individually developed pilot study confirming the ability to reasonably plan the qualification work study and prepare the methodological basis thereof. Compliance with the requirements for the design of the research paper (50%) (by content – absence of plagiarism and AI, quantity of literature sources used, relevance of study plan to study objective, relevance of study method to study objective.; by form – compliance with formal requirements for chapter headings, absence of spelling errors, presentation of literature references in text, correct presentation of literature list).
