About Study Course
Objective
To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills according to the requirements of the specialty of a geriatrician and related to mental illnesses of elderly people.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Recognition of geriatric syndromes: dementia, depression, delirium andpsychoses. Mental disorders caused by cerebrovascular diseases (atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension). Problem of involutional psychoses.
Skills
1.Ability to use the tools for recognition of depression (geriatric depression scale), tools for determination of cognitive disorders and dementia (MMSE, global aggravation scale, clock test). Team work organisation skills.
Competences
1.- Treatment tactics in cases of acute psychoses - Observance of the usage principles of psychotropic medications in geriatrics
