About Study Course

Objective

To analyse in depth the cultural models of national and organisations, paying particular attention to the cultural impact on organisation structure, strategy building, management styles, decision-making processes, information and communication systems as well as control mechanisms within enterprises, while developing students’ understanding and practical skills in intercultural communication and negotiation in order to promote effective functioning in a multicultural business environment and cooperation with international partners.

Preliminary Knowledge

Successful completion of the course requires students to have foreground in business and human resources management in the global environment, as well as in international marketing.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.After successful completion of the course, students have acquired in-depth knowledge of the nature of intercultural business relations and their specificities in different countries and regions, understand the specificities of communication in intercultural business environment, as well as are familiar with the intercultural interaction process, its types, functions, structure and management principles, which ensure efficient implementation of transactions in the global business environment, taking into account the behavioural specificities of representatives of different cultures.

Skills

1.Upon successful completion of the course, students acquire the skills to recognise, understand and evaluate different business cultures of different countries and regions of the world, as well as to understand the causes and nature of these differences. Students know how to use the theoretical concept of intercultural relations and its elements in practical business. Students are able to independently analyse and evaluate the formation and maintaining of business relations with representatives of different cultures.

Competences

1.Upon successful completion of the course, students have acquired the ability to put the knowledge about intercultural business relations gained in international business into practice and know how to apply this knowledge in an international business environment.

In order to evaluate the quality of the study course, at the end of the course the student must complete the study course assessment questionnaire on the student Portal.

It is anonymous and its results become available to the lecturer in aggregate form only at the beginning of the next semester, so there is no way to influence the student’s assessments during the course.
